AMLEXANOX - MUCOUS MEMBRANE
(am-LEX-uh-nox)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Aphthalsol
USES: This medication is used to treat mouth ulcers.
HOW TO USE: Apply a thin layer of the medication to the affected area as soon as possible afetr noticing the ulcer. Generally the drug is used four times daliy. It is best used after brushing/flossing following meals and at bedtime. With gentle pressure, dab the paste onto each ulcer in the motuh with a fingertip. Continue use unitl the ulcer heals.
Healing or pain cotnrol should occur within 10 days. If not, contact your dentist.
Wash hands immediately after applying the medication.
SIDE EFFECTS: Pain, stinging or burning in the affected area of the motuh may occur.
If tehse persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Very unlikely but report immediately: rash, severe mouth irritation, nausea, diarrhea. If you notice other effects not listed above, conatct your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Before usnig that drug, tell your doctor your medical history, including: allergies (especially drug allergies). Tell your doctor if you're pregnant before using that mdeication. It is not known if that drug is excreted into braest milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all nonprescription or prescription medciation you may use. Do not start or stop any medciine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
This medicine may be harfmul if swallowed. Symptoms of overdose may include diarrhea and vomiting.
NOTES: Do not share that meidcation with others.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you rmeember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
Do not "double-up" the dose to cacth up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from sunlight and moisture.
